Foodbank

We run a Foodbank at the church every Tuesday 10am – 12noon as part of Epsom & Ewell Foodbank

We continue to be very busy at our centres and whilst we still have a good stock of staple items, beans, tinned soup, pasta, loo rolls, we find we are in short supply of the items listed to the right (or below on a phone screen)

As well as food we are able to provide information and support about rent, housing, finance and many other subjects.

Universal Credit

  • Redhill Jobcentre is now Universal Credit Full Service and anyone in the Borough who has a change of circumstances will need to make a Universal Credit claim.
  • Redhill Job Centre has had nearly 400 new claims with 96 of the first 100 paid in full on time.
  • The managed migration of all remaining benefits is now delayed, with only a small trial of 10,000 people during 2019.
  • Income Support, Employment Support Allowance and Jobseeker’s Allowance will, like Housing benefit, now continue to be paid for another two weeks after the claim for UC is made.
  • The Universal Credit Work Allowance will be increased by £1,000 from April 2019.
  • Government is extending the 12 month grace period to support all self-employed people who claim UC.
  • Claimants can repay overpayments and debts more slowly from October 2019.
  • DWP will be funding Citizens Advice nationally to provide Universal Support (i.e. Personal Budgeting Support & Assisted Digital Support for 1 hour each within the first 3 months of the Universal Credit claim) from 1st April 2019.
