Share honestly the ways that you have sort recognition and greatness? When you achieved it how did you feel? Did the feeling last?
The people of Israel were searching for a Messiah. What did they believe that this Messiah would be like?
To this point the key question has been "Who do you say I am?" What's the answer to this question? The question now reverts to "What do you want me to do for you?" What does Mark suggest the answer to this question should be?
James and John want to be great. they want recognition. this is what they want Jesus to do for them. What does Jesus say and imply will happen instead?
Mark has presented us with a picture of Grace that is conveyed through service. Share together times when your experience of Grace has caused you to respond with acts of service.
