Mark 11. 27-33
The background is of course the events in the temple in Jerusalem. Jesus is no longer to be found on the margins of society, in the north, out of the way. He is no longer just teaching and performing miracles. He is now challenging the status quo in the temple, Jerusalem, heart of both Judaism and the Roman rule in Jewish territory.
- Have you ever had to ‘take over’ a difficult situation, assert authority or control? Tell each other about it. Observe the range of the examples you have.
- Why did Jesus refuse to answer the question about his authority in a direct and straight way?
