Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bartimaeus sees.
Let’s do something a little different this week.
Please read the story again. OR if you prefer read the account in Matthew 20:29-34.
We are going to try to imagine what it would have been like to be a part of this story.
First everyone needs to choose a character to be:
- One of the crowd trying to stop the blind man(men) calling out
- A disciple of Jesus looking on, remembering all that had recently happened
- A blind man
Divide as a group into smaller groups, each group being ONE of the above.
Have the group discuss the story, work out the feelings of the character about Jesus, the blind man, being blind, observing the healing or being healed - whatever the point of observation that has been chosen.
Re-read the story, with each group detailing their discussion including especially the thoughts and emotions they have discussed. In their character.
Then discuss this one question: If Jesus were to ask you the question he asked the blind man, how would you immediately reply? Are there illegitimate answers?
