- Who in your eyes has individual and social capital? How have they managed to gain this? Are they spending it wisely? Share your ideas.
- Read Jeremiah 29: 4-9. Take some time to pray for the wellbeing of your families, work colleagues and our local community.
- Haman is pictured as evil personified in Esther chapter 3. He embodies the evil for his time. The ideas are common to us all though – the abuse of power, the desire for revenge, fear of others leading to deep prejudice. How can we individually and corporately stand against these?
- Mordecai’s stand against Haman seems to be born out of a desire to stay within covenant relationship and keep holy. Share together what is helping you to maintain and build your spiritual lives at the moment, and stay holy.
- Words, written and oral, are shown to be powerful in this chapter. Why not spend some time thinking carefully about good and encouraging words you can say to each other?
