Judges 4 & 5 - the book of Ruth

A lot to read this week for our groups. STORY IS IMPORTANT in the Bible. This week we are contrasting the lives of 2 women as they each pursued the purpose of God in their lives in ways that would have been considered unusual in their day. Both lived in the couple of hundred years before the coming of the monarchy in Issael, so between 1250 and 1050 Be.

Take time to tell these 2 stories to each other. Let someone start and others chip in to tell the stories - just like you would reporting some great spectacle you had seen. This is an important part of Christian meeting - repeating the story to one another, for encouragement and warning .

What do each of these stories tell us about the role of women in the society of their day?

What is the most inspiring aspect of these stories?

Is there a difference between us in the way men and women NOW view these ancient stories?
