Questions for Home Groups or Private Reflection
Each week we are exploring a forward step in the story of the church, demonstrating the ‘newness’ of everything in the New Covenant age. Group meetings in August tend to be spasmodic at best. Those meeting can reflect on the sermons together, at each step asking how this part of the story reflects on our life as a church at the beginning of the 21st century, rather than the 1st century.
So this week we can ask the obvious questions:
- If a new member of that Jerusalem church dropped in on us today, what do you think would surprise them about our church life?
- What do we not have that they had?
- What is the best way to express the ‘things in common’ in our society now? Be realistic and intentional about answering this.
- Why did Ananias and Sapphira die? How many of us would still be alive if the same practice was followed today?
