Questions for Home Groups or Private Reflection
- Look at Heb 1: 1. Can you think of some of the methods God used to speak to mankind? (Ex. 31:18, I Kings 19:12, Dan. 5:5, Dan. 2:28, Num. 12:8, Num. 22:28)
- What do you think it means for Jesus to be the ‘exact representation’ of the being of God?
- It would help to look at Colossians 1:15-20, the closest NT parallel to this passage, but by another author.
- How would you explain to another person that saying Jesus is the ‘Son’ of God does not take away from his being God?
- Share together all that being ‘Son’ means in Jesus, using these 2 passages and any others that help.
- How is Jesus Christ different from all the other angels/messengers?
- Look at the last slide and add whichever words are most important to you in responding to this first paragraph in Hebrews.
