Questions for Home Groups or Private Reflection
- To get started - we talked about lots of characters in the Old Testament - Who is your favourite Bible character and why?
- Why do you think Moses didn't feel up to the job God had planned for him? Were his doubts understandable? ( Look at Exodus 3:7-44:17)
- Why, with the benefit of hindsight, was Moses wrong about his own shortcomings?
- What challenges did Joshua have to face on taking over from Moses?
- How would you have felt if you had been Joshua or Moses?
- What often stops us from doing things for God? Is it, for example, overwork, being too busy, getting tired, self-doubt, finding it hard to trust God, or other things?
- You might like to take a piece of paper and take 5 minutes or so to reflect on, and write down, what you think God might have prepared you for? But then take it home, pray about it and ask yourself if something is stopping you entering into God's plans for you.
- You might also wish to talk together about what you would answer if someone said to you 'Why does God allow things like the Cumbria Shootings?'
