“In revival, God is not concerned about filling empty churches,
He is concerned about filling
empty hearts.”

- Leonard Ravenhill

“No man is greater
than his prayer life”

What is Revival?

“The essence of revival is that the Holy Spirit comes down on a number of people together, upon a whole church, upon a number of churches, districts, or perhaps a whole country. That is what is meant by revival. It is , if you like, a  visitation of the Holy Spirit, or another term that is often used is this-an outpouring the Holy Spirit.”

- Dr Martyn-Lloyd Jones

Revival bursts forth in believers first bringing restoration, renewal and a deeper walk with the Lord.

Another definition is “The return  of the church to something of the experience of the Book of Acts” Acts 2 is the first example of revival.

“Wherever there is revival there will always be  the conversion of sinners”

- G. J. Morgan 1904, Wales

(100000 to 200000 people came to faith during the revival of 1904 in Wales)

Our Need For Revival

Leonard Ravenhill (1907-1994) was English evangelist and author who focused on prayer and revival.

A.W.Tozer wrote of Ravenhill:
“To such men as this, the church owes a debt too heavy to pay.”

Ravenhill said:
“The only reason we do not have revival is because we (the church)
are happy to live without it!!”
What a challenge as we watch the video.

Revival is God's Plan

Pray that God awakens the slumbering church with a Devine visitation.
“Awakening the Giant!”

The  first Great Awakening happened between 1730 and 1740.
It came at a time of secular rationalism and passion for faith had grown stale.

The time is right again for an awakening of faith in our land.

An on-going theme over the past few years has been a cry to
“Awaken the sleeping giant”

The Korean Prayer Mission has fervently prayed for the United Kingdom (the “sleeping giant”) to awake and be the instrument in God’s hands for an awakening of prayer and mission globally.

"Awake, sleeper and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!”

Ephesians 5v14

Pause and Pray for a Book of Acts kind of visitation in our generation!
Open your hands and receive!

At 3am on New Year’s day 1739, the Holy Spirit burst into an all night prayer meeting in Fetter Lane London.
“The power of God came mightily upon us” Recorded John Wesley in his journal.
He goes on “insomuch that many cried out for exceeding joy and many fell to the ground”
It was a visitation by the Holy Spirit like the one in the Book of Acts.
Such was its impact John Wesley rode 125,000 miles across the UK on horse back preaching the gospel.
Charles Wesley began to write 6000 hymns over time and George Whitfield crossed the Atlantic to stir the first Great Awakening in America.
Come Holy Spirit, Come.

True Revival produces lasting converts and raises the social and moral standard of the community

Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?

Psalm 85:6

Habakkuk 3 - Revive The Church

A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet. (A prayer of Revival)
“Lord , I have heard the report of you and your work, O Lord, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy”

Habakkuk 3: 1-2

Pause and reflect on:

  1. Past moves of God

  2. Reverential Fear of the holiness and power of God

  3. Cry out for revival in our generation across all age dynamics, it starts in us individually

  4. Remember His mercy & grace through Jesus Christ

  5. Passion for God’s word an awakening of truth & reformation

The Prayer of Habakkuk shows us that revival is a Sovereign work of God.

Let Us Pray ...

Pray for:

  • The Holy Spirit to convict us, the church, of ongoing sin in our lives. Evan Roberts the great Welsh revivalist simply prayed “bend me Lord” (Psalm 32:3) and “come Holy Spirit” (Romans 8v26)

  • There are no formulas for praying for revival! However, the History of revival reveals that God calls the church to repentance and a desire for the Holy Spirit to saturate the church with His presence.(John 7:37-39) Ask God to saturate your heart to love Him and people.

Let Us Pray ...

“Lord revive me”

So often we pray for revival in the church. Often we forget that we are the church! So cry out with a passion “Revive me!”
We do this by being honest before the Lord. Is the Lord my ALL in ALL?

Revival does not come by the church being more Holy or displaying outward piety, no the reality check helps us to restore Jesus to His throne in our lives and as the love of our lives.

Our REALITY CHECK:

Hosea 10 - Revive The Nations

Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unploughed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord,
until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.

Hosea 10:12

Let Us Pray ...

Pray for:

  • Tadworth and surrounding community to experience many people coming to Christ:

    • Families

    • Schools

    • Colleges

    • Local Churches

    • Local Communities.

  • Revival to flood the nation with Grace and Mercy (Isaiah 44:3) and to touch Europe, and the rest of the world once again through mission!

  • The World to be touched by God’s loving Holy Spirit bringing a harvest of souls across the Nations of the World. Touched by a love that is vast as the ocean!

Inspiration For The Heart

Quotes to inspire the heart as we continue to agonise in prayer.

Revival does not come without a battle! (Ephesians 6:12)
A one off week of prayer does not produce revival but is one step towards it!

“Our mistake is we want revival on our terms. We want to get the power of God into our hands, to further OUR kind of Christianity.”

- A. W. Tozer

“If my people who are called by MY NAME; humble themselves and PRAY and SEEK MY FACE and TURN from their wicked ways, then I will HEAR from heaven and will forgive their sin and HEAL their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

“Power from on high is the supreme need  of today”

- Charles G Finney

Ask the Lord to give you a burden for revival

Revival Inspiration 2.png

Unlock the power in you through prayer!

Do not grow weary the Lord hears your prayers and sees your tears.

Lean into God in Faith as you pray. Nothing is impossible with God!

Doubt sees the obstacles,
Faith sees the way.
Doubt sees the darkest night,
Faith sees the day.
Doubt dreads to take step,
Faith soars on high!
Doubt questions, “Who believes?”
Faith answers “I”

- Unknown Author

“A genuine revival without joy in the Lord is as impossible as Spring without flowers or dawn without light”

- Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Here Is Love

This song was known as the love song of the 1904 welsh revival.
It was written by William Rees.

The song was used mightily by god at that time.

It is said that the song brought sinners to repentance and hardened coal miners to tears as they embraced the love of Christ.

Holy spirit inspired worship is evident in revival let us pray for our worship teams but also that god gives us all a heart of worship for him, to desire his presence more than anything else in our lives.

Prayer of St. Symeon

An invocation to the Holy Spirit by St. Symeon (949-1022 A.D.)

Revival is a Sovereign work of God.

Let Us Pray ...

Come, true light.

Come, life eternal.

Come, hidden mystery.

Come treasure without name.

Come, reality beyond words.

Come, person beyond all understanding.

Come, rejoicing without end.

Come, light that knows no evening.

Come, unfailing expectation of  the unsaved.

Come, raising of the fallen.

Come, resurrection of the dead.

Come, all powerful, for unceasingly you create, refashion and change all things by your will alone.

Come, for your name fills our hearts with longing, and is ever on our lips.

Come, for you are yourself the desire that is within me.

Come, the consolation of my humble soul.

Come, my joy, my glory, my endless delight.

Amen, Amen.

It helps to Pause and breathe slowly between each statement

Be Prepared

Be prepared to share a prophecy the Lord may give you.

Write it down!

Smith Wigglesworth had this Prophetic word in 1947:

“During the next few decades there will be two moves of the Holy Spirit across the church in Great Britain. The first move will affect every church that is open to receive it, and will be characterised by a restoration of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The second move will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches. In the duration of each of these moves, the people who are involved will say 'This is a great revival' But the Lord says: 'No, nether is the great revival but both are steps towards it'"

He goes on to say:

“When the WORD & the SPIRIT come together, there will be the biggest move of the Holy Spirit that the nation and indeed the world has ever seen.”
